All divers are required to complete a Diver Medical Questionnaire (self-certification). By answering YES or NO, it will be clear whether a medical certificate is required.
If you have, or are predisposed to, medical conditions that may be incompatible with diving (typically heart or lung-related), a physician’s evaluation is necessary. In most cases, a simple “fit for diving” medical certificate is sufficient.
Recreational scuba diving and freediving require good physical and mental health. If you feel unwell, or think you may have a contagious illness, please avoid diving activities.
If you have any doubts about your fitness to dive, we strongly recommend consulting your physician before diving.
Due to our remote location, we strongly recommend having a diving insurance with emergency assistance coverage (such as DAN or similar).
We can under request, subscribe a daily/weekly DAN coverage, ask at the Reception.
In Marsa Alam/Quseir it is also possible to subscribe to a DECO World membership, supporting the local hyperbaric chamber, which operates without governmental funding and is essential in remote areas like ours.
DECO Membership – €12 per person (valid for 3 weeks) includes:
• Free first hyperbaric treatment if needed
• 50% discount on medical checks
• 50% discount on “fit for diving” medical certificate (if required)
Subscription is available directly at check-in
